The Unbiased Peer Review Platform

Jailbreak Science will be a journal platform that seeks to weight the peer review process by identifying bias groups that exist within every field of science. Every bias group will essentially act as one entity, with only one vote for the entire group. We also plan to incorporate more complex algorithmic bias detection using various pattern detection techniques. The reviewers will be anyone who wants to sign up and go through the verification process which will consist of either providing proof of a Bachelor's degree or higher, OR taking our verification assessments, which will be a lengthy and detailed examination to determine whether you have enough knowledge in the desired field to accurately review others' work.

We do not have an estimated ship time as of yet, but we do have a Discord server in which we communicate about various relevant topics. You can also join our email newsletter to stay updated every time something new gets announced, just click below.

Update #1

by Karsten Koerner

July 17th, 2024

Hello, my name is Karsten Koerner, the lead developer (and only developer at the present time). I am a full stack software engineer and I study biology too. I have had this particular project in mind for about a year now, but it was on the back burner until recently.

My primary motivation for Jailbreak is the fact that I see so much bias in mainstream journals (notably against the theory of intelligent design). I also do not agree with the fact that they generally do not pay the authors or editors, yet they require authors to sign over their copyrights for their published work. This journal platform will be the exact opposite, we will pay our authors and reviewers (that's potentially you!) and we will NOT require them to sign over their copyrights. Your work is your work, you can publish it in as many journals as you like after publishing here.
